How to use the crafting calculator
The calculator checks if one craft makes or loses silver. It loads the lowest sell order for the item and each material in Bridgewatch, Caerleon, Fort Sterling, Lymhurst, Martlock and Thetford, on the server you choose. You do not type in prices.
- Search for a weapon, armor piece or other item, or pick one of the suggestions.
- Choose your server: Americas, Europe or Asia.
- Set the enchantment and the quality you want to sell.
- Choose No Focus or With Focus.
- If you craft at a player station, enter its fee per 100 nutrition.
- Read the material cost, the item’s price and the profit or loss.
The profit assumes you craft in the item’s bonus city when it has one. Market tax and setup fees are not included yet.
Return rate formula
When you craft in a city, part of your materials come back. The game gives a Local Production Bonus (LPB): 18 in every royal city, plus 59 with focus, plus the city’s bonus for that kind of item. The bonuses add up, then turn into a return rate:

The calculator then works out the cost of one craft:
material cost = returnable materials × (1 − return rate) + artifacts and other non-returnable materials
station fee = total item value × 0.1125 × (fee per 100 nutrition ÷ 100)
profit = item price − (material cost + recipe silver cost + station fee)
Item value is a number each material has in the game files. The station fee can be 0 to 1,000 silver per 100 nutrition. The station owner sets it.
Worked example: Adept's Broadsword
The table shows the materials for one Adept's Broadsword. Craft it in its bonus city (+15 LPB) with focus. The LPB is 18 + 15 + 59 = 92, so the return rate is 47.9%.

At a station fee of 500 silver per 100 nutrition: the total item value is 384, the nutrition is 43.2, and the fee is 216 silver. The calculator adds today’s prices for the materials and the item to show the profit.
Questions
What return rate do I get with focus?
43.5% in a royal city without a bonus for the item. 47.9% in the item’s crafting bonus city. Without focus it is 15.3% in a royal city.
What is the return rate formula?
Return rate = 1 − 1 ÷ (1 + LPB ÷ 100). Add up the LPB first: 18 base, 59 for focus and the city bonus. Then convert.
Where do the prices come from?
From the Albion Data Project, for the server you choose. The calculator takes the lowest sell order across Bridgewatch, Caerleon, Fort Sterling, Lymhurst, Martlock and Thetford. Materials use normal quality. The crafted item uses the quality you pick.
Why is there no profit for some items?
If the item or a material has no sell order, it has no price. The calculator then shows no profit instead of counting the missing price as 0.
Does the profit include market tax?
Not yet. Market tax and setup fees are not included. The recipe’s silver cost and the station fee you enter are included.
Do artifacts come back with the return rate?
No. Artifacts and other non-returnable materials are always used up. Only normal materials, such as metal bars and leather, come back.
